You only see the run up and not the crash but man it’s hard to believe that what you miss, ends up as a fireball. Rimac has some answering to do.

The show’s statement said: “Richard Hammond was involved in a serious crash after completing the Hemburg Hill Climb in Switzerland in a Rimac Concept One, an electric super car built in Croatia, during filming for The Grand Tour Season 2 on Amazon Prime, but very fortunately suffered no serious injury.”

Mr Hammond, who has a fractured knee, was “conscious and talking” after the crash, the show said.

BBC is reporting that.

Anyone notice how it’s always Hammond who gets hurt?

Isn’t he also the only one who can’t drift? DRIFTING SAVES LIVES!

I think Hammond has some ‘splaining to do with Rimrac. Looks like he just over cooked it.

He’s the show’s Kenny.

James knows he isn’t the best driver so he doesn’t drive fast.

Jeremy thinks he is the best driver in the world but in reality he is just the best of the 3.

Hammond can’t really see over the steering wheel

Rimac has nothing to answer for in regards to the crash occurring. Hamster went into the corner way too hot. They could certainly have some answering to do in regards to why the car caught fire and the risk of fire in a crash though. I’d like to know speed, how far the drop outside the corner was, and what the car impacted on the hillside (was there a rock that focused the impact force to a single point for example). The fact that Hamster broke his knee suggests there were some considerable forces involved

As someone who is also vertically disadvantaged, I accept this explanation more readily than I should.

To paraphrase Napoleon, we’re tall from the sky to the ground.

Puncturing a fully charged lithium ion battery can be... messy. They can burst into flames pretty quick.
